I have the most interesting conversations with Caden. He is at that age when he is really putting things together and making sense of the world around him. It's refreshing seeing things from his perspective, so innocent and sweet. He makes me laugh. Here's our conversation from earlier today in the car...
Tara - "Every time we pass over this bridge, I smell a skunk". Caden, do you smell that?"
Caden - "Yeah."
Tara - "Did you know that last night mommy and daddy smelled a skunk while we were sitting inside our house?"
Caden - "Where was it? Did you see it?"
Tara - "No, it was too dark."
Scott - "Maybe it was you Caden. Did you eat a skunk?"
Caden - "No, I definitely did not. I ate a beaver because I'm sick."
Scott and Tara - "What?"
Scott - "So when you eat a beaver, it makes you sick?"
Caden- "No, a beaver means you got sick".
LONG PAUSE
Tara - "Oh, Caden you mean a FEVER...that means you're sick".
Caden - "No a beaver means your sick."
Tara - "No Caden, it's FEVER. A beaver is an animal".
Caden - (laughing) "Yeah mom, you're right".

That is adorable. I love the way kids minds work. Breyden and I have had many conversations like that too. I love it.
hahahahahah. That is the funniest thing I have heard in awhile. Love that kid. I'm impressed you could figure out that he meant fever. I never would have put that together.
thats funny. i personally think you should start calling a fever a beaver. makes for a better story. caden is adorable and so funny. its because he has funny parents. :)
Haha I love it. He is so funny. I miss him already. I can't wait to have those kind of conversations with my kid.
That is a good code word, when you sneak your kid into nursery even though they have a beaver.
So cute. He sort of reminds me of Max, funny little men!
I love what children say! He is too cute! Of course, our children always make us feel smart, right??
Hey Tara--
I remember you saying that you had your blog printed and made into books. Can you remind me of what company/website you used?
Thanks!
Ann
P.S. Having a fever...eating a beaver...it's all the same. I'm not sure which is worse!
That's too cute! I love the things kids say and put together in their little minds.
