Scott finished the first year of his MBA program on Friday and we couldn't be more excited! It has been a LONG two semesters for everyone, but our family has grown so much and is definitely better because of our time here.
Scott has done extremely well in the program and has found his interests/emphasis to be finance and marketing. I have loved watching him take on several projects because with each one I learn a little bit more about him that I didn't know before. I have always known that he is great with numbers and the analytical thinking skills. However, I didn't know how creative and witty he was until he started with the marketing. As difficult as these semesters have been for him, he has enjoyed the education and is excited about the career path he has chosen.
I have learned patience, which I was in desperate need of. On those days when Scott was gone for 16 hours I learned to manage things by myself and to find joy along the way. I have learned to slow down and embrace the little things because they don't last forever. I have learned to let some things go, my house doesn't have to be perfect all of the time and if my kids need attention, then that is the priority. I have learned that I am a lot stronger than I thought I was and also it is alright to ask for help when you need it.
As a family we treasure any time we get together and have enjoyed the peace and beauty of Midway. We truly have been blessed while here and are grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who knows what is best for our family and blesses us accordingly.
What's next? Well, we don't quite know yet. Finding an internship has been difficult with the current economic challenges. Scott had an interview last week with a company in LA and is going down there this week to see the company in action and talk details. It sounds like a great opportunity, but it is a four month job instead of the typical three month one. The kids and I won't be going with him since it is so expensive to live down there and he will be working all of the time. We were hoping for some quality family time during the first month off, but that may not be the case. We may end up without a husband and dad for four months! So, Scott has decided to take all of us with him this week to do the beach and Disneyland just in case it is our only family vacation this summer.
At this point, not knowing what our plan is from day to day is stressful but I've learned to turn all things over to God and do the best we can and it all works out in the end. So, here's to not knowing!

You are so positive and faithful. Thanks for your example. Indeed there is a time and season for all things. Good luck on the interview Scott. Tara, are you considering coming to Vegas for the summer. Midway is probably more pleasant but all of your fam is here and you'd be closer to Scott for visits. Well, have a great trip to the beach and Disneyland...
That is amazing growth you shared with us. I'm so glad that you are finding the joy in the midst of an unperfect house, a husband working long hours, and children who depend on you to meet all of their needs! I'm learning all of these things right now too and can completley identify with you. Hooray for patience!
Scott is blessed to have such a supportive wife during his schooling. You make for a happy household :)
