Day 1

Scott left this morning for Connecticut for 13 days. I'm not going to lie, I am a bit nervous. Not that I need him around to "run the household". Let's be honest, most of us moms do that solo anyways. However, I do look forward to that moment when he walks through the garage door and I can breathe a sigh of relief because I have "backup" and I know our evenings will be full of fun activities.

But being a single mom was my life during his MBA program and especially last summer when he was in LA doing his internship and I was living in Las Vegas with my family. I should be pretty good at being alone with the kids by now. I've blogged about these experiences and how I felt accomplished, independent and strong, having learned many great lessons I swore I would never forget. I guess these next two weeks we'll see how much I really remember.

- Made these today to participate in our ward's secret Halloween treat exchange. You know the kind when you drop the treats on the door step, ring the bell and run? I couldn't believe how much fun Caden had doing this. He giggled and shrieked with excitement and nervousness the entire way down one person's driveway. It was hilarious.

- Without fail, my kids always get sick when they are away from their dad. Today was not any different. Abbie woke up with a bit of the croup, had a weird rash around lunch time and ended the night by puking in her bed and all over herself.

It's only 9:30 and I'm beat. Night.
