Abbie and I cleaned bathrooms today while Caden was at school. She's a super big helper (said sarcastically)! At least I know exactly what she is doing when she is by my side spraying everything down with disinfectant. If she ever disappears for a few minutes and it gets quiet, I know I am going to be cleaning up some big mess.
I finally got in the shower at 3 o'clock. I wanted to stay in there forever. Warm and silent. It didn't last long though. Abbie and Caden took turns peeking in asking for juice, snacks or when I would be done. Why is it that kids seem to have the most questions or need the most help when your in the shower or on the toilet? Can we get just a few minutes of privacy? I haven't peed alone in years.
We ran to the store to buy treats for the Halloween treasure hunt I am doing for Caden's class on Friday. That's my contribution to their party. There will be other games, crafts and treats but we decided to hide a treasure chest full of candy. Caden is so excited he already knows what the treasure is.
We had dinner with the Transtrum's from upstairs (sister in law, her hubby and baby). It was total chaos and I couldn't help but laugh the entire time. My kids talk NON-STOP and never stop moving. And Lately, Baby "D" has discovered he has a really loud voice too (I don't blame him, he needs one to be heard over my children). The three of them had us adults on edge by the end of dinner.
Bed time was shortly after. My favorite time of the day. Yes, because things are peaceful when the kids go to bed. Yes, because I have hours after to do whatever I want to. But mostly because they start to settle down and I get a few minutes in of snuggling, reading books and exchanging "I Love You's". Being a mom is hard, really hard sometimes. But those moments make every bit of motherhood worth it.
